A Royal Wedding in Edinburgh!

Written by Annie on July 30th, 2011

So in case you didn’t know, there was a royal wedding today in Edinburgh. Zara Phillips, Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter, married Mike Tindall, England’s Rugby team captain. [And GRACIOUS if you see his face you can tell that man plays a hard hitting sport. Yowsa.]

And since it was a gorgie-poo day in Edinburgh, and since I live in Edinburgh, my roomie and I walked down to where the hoopla was happening.

Vlogging ensued.

A few notes of interest:

- I’m terribly self-centered when I’m videoing, often cutting poor Becky head off or in half or the like. It’s shameful. Forgive my selfishness.

- Becky is a natural. An absolute natural at vlogging.

- Accent identification: Becky is English, Rich is Northern Irish.

- I’m just learning how to use iMovie ’11, so forgive my lack of knowledge/editing skillz.

- I’m kinda short, forgive my lack of view.

Now on with the ssshhhhooooowwww!

Welcome to my new life. Is it an exaggeration to say I rubbed shoulders with royalty today?

Well, we shared air. That’s enough for me. :)

Y’all have a great weekend.

Maybe next time you come to NC we can take you to see the Dairy Queen. Lame. We are so lame here. Congratulations on being royal now. I can’t wait to watch that video again. It was splendid.

    Love the video!

Perhaps when you come back to NC I’ll drive us to Dairy Queen {like Emily mentioned} in my limo! Now that will be royal-like, right?

  3. You are so famous. And fancy. What with your vlogging and your royals. :) By the way, I walked away from this post with one point and one point only: Must look up Mike Tindall’s face. And wowsa is right! I have never in my life seen such a crooked nose. Note to self: Don’t pick up rugby.

Seriously. He wasn’t an ugly kid- his sport just moved his nose. Bless him.

I love that Becky said that Zara was marrying Mike who plays rugby! No one ever royals last names anyway. I think you would make a great news reporter. For the next event you go to, you should start it out “Reporting Live from Edinburgh”.

Seems like you are having a blast over there! I so enjoy reading about your adventures!

I laughed out loud at least 5 times…that is a good sign :) And…I have no doubt that if you were to meet any of the royal family they would adore you immediately. Phil and I actually had a conversation about you and how we wouldn’t be surprised if you came home bff’s with William and Kate. Just sayin :)

Okay…NO WAY that blonde girl was a real person. Her tone, laugh, and head nod were the exact same with every royal she saw. She is indeed a Scottish robot.

Wow what a day! I feel unworthy to be the friend of someone who has shared air with our dear Queenie. You’ll be singing the National Anthem next. An honorary Brit indeed.

@Annie, Um, that would be a huge ABSOLUTELY!! You’ll feel like the characters and their lives are all around you, actually being where the story is set!! I would look up from the pages in my California living room and be surprised they weren’t in the room and that I wasn’t in Scotland–can’t imagine how vivid it would be to read them there!!!
