How dare he mess with your junk! I mean, really. We just want to stay in our comfortable zone - whatever that may be for each of us. And girl, I'm sayin' it again...we could be sisters. I have that same struggle with rightness and it's not pretty sometimes. Ask my family. Can we DO anything to earn His love or salvation? NO. I have to remind myself of His grace every single day.
Now I'm singing "Dive" in my head.
Help.

. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind – that’s right out of the 6th chapter of Deuteronomy. But of equal importance is the command to love your neighbor as yourself – that’s found in Leviticus 19. The unique thing, the remarkable thing, is that Jesus puts the two together. He isn’t saying that first we love God with our entire beings and then we love neighbor. Rather, we love God by loving neighbor, and visa versa. And in order to love God and neighbor in a healthy way, we must love ourselves. Not a single aspect of our being is left out of the equation. Heart, soul, mind. Love of God, love of neighbor and love of self are inseparable.

You are genetically pre-disposed to be a non risk taker. By never taking risks ( especially in affairs of the heart) you lose out.
We are the only ones who stop us from being free. We do not control others or outer conditions. But we can control our thoughts. It takes practice.
Freedom is having choices. You have a choice. You can choose to be happy now regardless of circumstances. No one else can choose for you.

You may not be like me, but if you are, I avoid risk to avoid messing up. B/c somewhere in there I think my "rightness" contributes to my standing before God. As if I could earn my salvation or earn His love.
